THREE alleged car thieves were arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning after being found in possession of a suspected stolen car.
According to Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesperson for Kempton SAPS, the three men, two aged 23 and one 26, were found with the car at about 1.30am on the corner of Pretoria Road and Long Street in Kempton.

“Kempton police were patrolling the area when they noticed a suspicious gold Toyota Tazz,” Mtshali said.
“They pulled the vehicle over and upon checking the car, they discovered that the vehicle was recently reported stolen in Ivory Park during a hijacking,” Mtshali explained.
Police also discovered a 9mm pistol and ammunition on one of the suspects.
The suspects will appear in Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on charges of possession of a suspected stolen vehicle and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
