GIDEON Stassen’s hopes of getting bail were put on hold yet again after the joint bail application with his girlfriend was postponed.
Stassen (43) and Chantelle Justine Minnott (31) again appeared in Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court late Thursday morning.
The couple is accused of murdering 78-year-old Annatjie Stassen, Gideon’s mother, on November 16 in their Spekboom Street home.

Walking up the stairs from the holding cells, Stassen appeared first, wearing a black t-shirt with white writing on it. He respectfully, but with caution, raised his right hand to acknowledge family members who attended the court case.
Three elderly men and a woman nodded their heads in reply.
A medium-built man with a slight belly, he walked ahead of his pint-sized girlfriend, as if to lead the way as a father would do with his daughter.
Sporting a brown and black leopard print t-shirt, Minnott tied her short light brown hair in a ponytail. She seemed slightly more agitated than the seemingly relaxed Stassen, who also has light brown hair.
They waited just a few seconds in the dock before the state prosecutor requested for the case to be postponed, yet again.
After their assigned lawyer agreed to the postponement, Magistrate P Manyathi adjourned the case to Friday morning.
