The father grabbed his two children who were playing with other children and took them into the house.

This morning SAPS discovered the body of the 22-year-old man who allegedly slit the throats of his two children and then stabbed their mother.

Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela said the man’s body was found in one of the houses in Phomolong. It is believed he committed suicide after the attack on his family.

According to Rabie Ridge SAPS the man who is father to the five-year-old boy and two-year-old girl from Ozoboya Street in Phomolong arrived yesterday at the house at about 9.30pm and suddenly grabbed his two children who were playing with other children.

He took the two children into the house. “While he was in the house, he allegedly took out a knife and slit their throats and left the boy lying on the floor and the girl lying on the bed. They were in a pool of blood.

“The suspect then left the scene to look for the mother of the children. He found her in a shebeen somewhere in Phomolong. He stabbed her also with a knife and ran away. The two children died and the mother was taken to Tembisa Hospital,” said Captain Manyadza Ralidzhivha.
