Sentimental military weapons stolen on New Year’s Eve

A reward will be given for the recovery of the items

AN Edleen family is offering a reward for the recovery of two full-size (29cm) kukris with two daggers each, in leather sheaths, that were stolen on December 31.

“The weapons belonged to my late father who got them in Malaya whilst serving in the Royal Military Police in 1954,” explained Paul Mills.

Mills said the robbery took place at his mother’s home between 1pm and 2pm.

“Both of the main blades have small nicks on them that I put there as a kid and got ‘bliksemed’ for. If offered these items please contact me,” added Mills.

“According to the detective it was the eighth house that had been broken into on New Year’s Eve.”

He added that a case of robbery had been opened at the Norkem Park SAPS station.

If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of these items you may contact Mills on 082 740 2213.
