“Sgt Tshulungwa and myself received information from the mother of a 16-year-old boy who bought dagga from Moods that he was selling it from under a tree. The boy pointed out the man and we made the arrest,” said Sgt Sharon Tsotsotso, spokesman for Sebenza SAPS.
Moods had 39 packets of dagga on him valued at about R2 000.
“We will review his case when he gets out of court because it appears that his documentation to be in the country is invalid,” said Tsotsotso.
As for the rest of the weekend, Sebenza SAPS, together with the EMPD, made seven arrests for possession of marijuana in Cresslawn and Croydon through random stop and searches, as well as 16 arrests for drunk driving on Queen Street, Modderfontein between 6pm and midnight on Sunday evening.
