The Ivory Park SAPS arrested a 26-year-old man on charges of kidnapping and assault.
The police’s spokesperson, Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela, said four suspects entered the victim’s house in Ivory Park, Extension 13, and accused him of stealing their property.
“When the victim told the suspects he had no idea of what they were talking about, they forcefully took him to the bush next to the Glen Austin Waste area where he was assaulted with a wheel spanner on his joints and the whole body,” said W/O Sekgobela.
W/O Sekgobela said the victim claims the suspects burnt his private part with a gun-light.
“The man is recovering in hospital. The police managed to arrest one suspect while the other three are still at large. The arrested suspect is expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court on the charges of kidnapping and assault,” said W/O Sekgobela.
