Traffic from the highway is still being diverted following a hijacking earlier this morning on Voortrekker Road opposite Shoprite and the Engen Garage.
During a shootout which ensued one suspect was wounded in the leg and lower body and was taken to Tembisa Hospital.
A second suspect had also been arrested after a white GTi Golf had been stolen.
Police and crime scene investigators are still on the scene.
