THE Gauteng Task Team is conducting investigations to established whether four suspects could be linked to a spate of hijackings in Kempton.
The suspects were arrested on Wednesday last week at about 10.30am by members of the Johannesburg Flying Squad, Kempton SAPS spokesperson, Capt Jethro Mtshali, confirmed.
They were apprehended at the R25 and R21 off-ramps.

According to Mtshali, the flying squad was given a tip-off about suspected robbers driving a white Toyota Yaris who were alleged to be armed.
“The vehicle was spotted and officers pulled it over. Upon searching the suspects and the vehicle they found two firearms, one with a number that had been filed off, a pair of gloves and sets of number plates belonging to various motor vehicles,” Mtshali said.
The four suspects, aged 26, 35, 37 and 42, will be charged with possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition. Their vehicle was impounded by police.
