THREE suspects were arrested for theft out of a motor vehicle and possession of stolen property on January 17 at about 2:20am at a mall in Birch Acres.
Norkem Park SAPS spokesman, Capt Lesibana Molokomme, said a Norkem Park sector vehicle was responding to a complaint of motor vehicle theft in progress at Alex Shopping Centre when the three suspects were spotted and arrested.

“They were found in possession of two tyres, two rims and a jack valued at R15 000,” explained Molokomme.
The suspects, aged between 31 and 33, will face a charge of possession of stolen property and theft out of a motor vehicle.
Molokomme also pointed out that in a joint operation with Ekurhuleni Metro Police from January 15 to 17, seven suspects were arrested for driving under the influence.
Other arrests for the weekend included contempt of court (1), shoplifting (3), general theft (2), possession of dagga (1) and house robbery (2).
