A 31-year-old man was arrested for attempting to bribe a policewoman in an attempt to have his younger brother evade detention.
Kempton Park SAPS spokesperson, Capt Jethro Mtshali, said the man’s younger brother was arrested by Const Ntebaleng Makobane for being in possession of drugs on Tuesday last week.
Makobane was conducting a routine stop and search operation when she apprehended the suspect, who is in his 20s, at the corner of Kempton Road and Casuarina Street.
The suspect’s brother went to the police station later, where he offered Makobane R400 for his little brother to be released, which she refused.
The man was also arrested on the spot.
Both will appear in court, one for the possession of drugs, and the other for bribery.
