TWO suspects were arrested for housebreaking in Birchleigh North at about 4pm on Thursday.
The arrest came after the quick response from a police sector vehicle, MML Security, the metro police and CPF Sector 2 patrollers, said Norkem Park SAPS spokesman, Capt Lesibana Molokomme.
“It is alleged that MML Security responded to a panic alarm on Lorna Street,” he explained.
”On arrival, the security officers spotted two suspects, who started running and jumping over walls to other yards.“Back-up was called and law enforcement agencies responded swiftly, leading to the arrest of the two suspects.”
Molokomme further explained that, upon investigation at the house that was targeted, it was found that a sitting room window had been broken but that nothing had been taken.
The suspects, both aged 20, will be charged with housebreaking with the intent to commit an unknown crime.
