Intervention operation held in Norkem Park

A total of 16 suspects were arrested during the operation with different charges

AN intervention operation organised by the Gauteng SAPS provincial office took place in Norkem Park from Friday to Sunday.

Norkem Park SAPS spokesman, Capt Lesibana Molokomme, said the role players in the operation included Norkem Park Vispol members, Flying Squad, K9, Gauteng Mounted Unit, East Rand Mounted Unit, Norkem Park CPF patrollers from Sector 2 and 3, CPF leaders and Alpha Security.

“The focus was on trio crimes, property related crimes, and contact crimes in all three sectors,” Molokomme pointed out.

A total of 16 suspects were arrested during the operation on different charges which included: Four for driving under the influence of liquor, four for common assault under domestic violence, two for the possession of suspected stolen property, one for the possession of dagga, two for general theft, one for malicious damage to property, one for shoplifting and one for using a motor vehicle without the owner’s permission.

The arrested suspects will face their respective charges in court soon.
