According to Const Patricia Mgijimi, spokesperson for the Tembisa SAPS, the man was arrested by Kempton police after someone complained of a delivery that never reached its destination.

“Upon further investigations, police were led to Plot 127 on 2nd Avenue in Bredell. Here police discovered two truck trailers reported missing at Dawnpark SAPS. A third trailer reported to Sinoville SAPS was also found loaded with boxes of cigarettes worth R2.5-million,” Mgijimi confirmed.

A truck horse with a false Gauteng registration number was also recovered.

“This particular truck horse originally has a Botswana registration and was reported stolen in Hammanskraal.”

All the recovered trailers and the horse were all registered as hijack cases at different police stations.
