According to Kempton police spokesperson, Capt Jethro Mtshali, at about 5.30pm the crime prevention unit received information about a shooting that was happening at the property.
“On their arrival, the police searched the house and found large quantities of 9mm and shotgun ammunition, three shotguns and hunting rifles, a SAPS oath stamp, SAPS certifying stamp, an army helmet, the national force flag, police uniform, old SA flag and an airwing flag,” Mtshali said.
According to the police the man claimed to be a former police officer and had resigned in 2011 but could not produce any form of license to possess such firearms and ammunition.
They will appear in court where they will face charges of possession of suspected stolen goods and possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
