A tip off acted upon by the metro police’s Germiston crime prevention task team led to the arrest of a suspected drug peddler found in possession of five blocks of Cat estimated to be worth R25 000 on the street.
The 39-year-old Nigerian national, with a life-partner permit that expired in 2014, was nabbed at the intersection of West and Central streets in the Kempton Park CBD.
The arrest was effected around 11am on Thursday.
A charge of possession of an illicit substance was registered at Kempton Park Police Station and the suspect is expected to appear in Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court soon.
