A 19-year-old teenage boy was arrested on Friday (February 12) after allegedly stealing two pairs of takkies.
The teen, who was walking with a friend at corner Kelvin and CR Swart roads at about 8.15pm was brought into the Kempton police station by a patrolling crime prevention unit member, police spokesperson Capt Jethro Mtshali said.

The suspect and his friend were carrying a school bag with them.
As soon as they saw the female constable approaching, they tried to flee but the teen failed to outrun the constable.
“The suspect was brought in to the police station for possession of suspected stolen goods after two pairs of takkies were found in his possession. Upon entering the police station, someone who was there at the same opening a case of robbery then pointed out to the teen, identifying him as the man who robbed him earlier,” Mtshali said.
The victim even pointed out that the teen was wearing one of the pairs of takkies already.
The teen will appear in court soon on charges of robbery and possession of suspected stolen goods.
Police are still looking for his friend.
