Cheeky thief arrested twice in four days

The suspect will appear in court for possession of suspected stolen goods

A THIEF didn’t learn his lesson after he was arrested the first time for copper cable theft, because just four days later he stole again.

It is believed that the suspect was out on bail when he was arrested the second time.

According to Kempton police spokesperson Capt Jethro Mtshali, the 32-year-old was arrested in the early hours of February 24 for being in the possession of copper cables.

Mtshali said the Crime Prevention Unit was patrolling around Kempton when they noticed the suspect walking along Pienaar Avenue in Nimrod Park at about 3.44am.

The suspect appeared in court for the possession of suspected stolen goods and was out on bail when four days later, he was caught with a stolen bicycle.

On Sunday (February 28) he was arrested again at the corner of Pretoria and Voortrekker roads after police received a tip-off from members of the community.

He will appear in court soon to face another charge of possession of suspected stolen goods.
