Ekurhuleni to tackle key spatial development issues with business stakeholders

In an effort to address concerns around the distribution and use of land, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality will, on Tuesday, March 8 meet with the business community to unpack key initiatives in the realm of urban development.

The City Meets Business session will see the Metro’s City Planning Department present its plans with regards to the Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act, Municipal Spatial Development Framework and Strategic Urban Developments which guide incoming development applications as well as investment in the region.

“As Ekurhuleni embarks on its growth path as Africa’s first Aerotropolis, it is crucial that we develop and promote an integrated city that addresses spatial injustices and also guides our development into a sustainable and vibrant region,” said Ekurhuleni spokesperson Themba Gadebe.

“It is therefore crucial that we engage with the business community which is responsible for the developments within Ekurhuleni.”

The City Meets Business meeting will take place from 8am to 10.30am at the Kempton Park Civic Centre, corner of CR Swart and Pretoria streets, Kempton Park.
