Club donates uniforms to pupils in need
The school principal, Ms Mpakoa, said the donation would help the pupils and give them a sense of belonging.
Fifteen pupils from Tembisa High School will now go to school in new school uniform after the Bakgotsi Social Club donated uniforms to them on February 24.
The pupils comes from poor families, and most of them did not have a full school uniform.
The school principal, Ms Mpakoa, said the donation would help the pupils and give them a sense of belonging.
“It is difficult for a child to cope at school without a proper school uniform. We are grateful for this contribution to improving the lives of our pupils.”
“Bakgotsi proved against all odds and has been fulfilling its promise to our school for over 10 years now. We are proud and honoured to have fathers who group themselves to look after their children,” said Ms Mpakoa.
Club member, Mr Uriah Moganedi, said their aim is to uplift the spirits of the pupils and give them hope and courage to love education.
“We are trying to teach them how to catch a fish, we are not giving them a fish. One day they will know that one has to look after another person in order for our society to grow. It will be a good lesson to them as the future generation of the country. It has been great seeing them smiling and working hard to go to another grade,” said Mr Moganedi.
