A gang of three men using a jamming device to steal goods from vehicles, was nabbed on Pretoria Road on Sunday night.
Lt Col Wilfred Kgasago, metro police spokesman, said the men, driving a white Toyota Venture, were believed to be behind a spate of such incidents in Norkem Park and Birchleigh North.
He said the arrest took place at 9pm at the intersection with Vlei Street.

“A Toyota Venture, fitting the description of the one suspected of involvement in jamming and stealing from vehicles, was sighted at 9pm on Sunday. The metro police stopped the vehicle and on searching it, came across a laptop, charger and external modem belonging to an employee of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality.
“The metro barcode was still onto the back of the laptop.. The laptop was positively identified as the one stolen from a vehicle in Birchleigh North at 7.30pm on March 10. The case was registered at Norkem Park Police Station,” Kgasago said.
The trio, in their mid-thirties, were charged at Kempton Park Police Station with possession of stolen property.
