Domestic dispute: critically injured boyfriend is airlifted

He was airlifted to a Johannesburg hospital by a Netcare 911 chopper

POLICE are investigating a case of attempted murder following the arrest of a female suspect.

The woman (26) allegedly stabbed her boyfriend in the lower body using a sharp instrument, Kempton Police spokesperson, Capt Jethro Mtshali, said.

The incident took place at a block of flats on Palm Avenue at about 4pm on Monday.

“Police were summoned to the scene after the couple had a fight and the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim (boyfriend) with a sharp instrument in the lower body,” Mtshali said.

According to Netcare911’s Athlenda Mathe, paramedics were called to the scene soon after and managed to stabilise the man before airlifting him to a Johannesburg hospital for further medical care.

The girlfriend was arrested and will appear in court on charges of attempted murder.
