Teen ready to take the US by storm

'The passion I have for arts is like an ever flowing waterfall of hope & creativity'

LOCAL teen girl Hillary Idiabolo is ready to take the international entertainment industry by storm when she performs in the US.

Idiabolo (16) has been handpicked to perform at the international ARTS Showcase in Orlando, Florida in July.

“The ARTS showcase is a convention where you come face to face with industry professionals from, for example, Sony, Disney, New York Model Management and Tyler Perry Studios, among others,” Idiabolo said.

The Hoërskool Voortrekker learner was chosen by an American scout, Kim Myers, after he saw her acting performance at the Silver Star Casino in October last year.

“I’ve been acting for about three years now and modelling for one,” the matric student said.

She has mostly been involved in school productions and has even won a prize as the most promising actress at her school’s Oscar’s Evening.

“That’s when I realised I had a passion for acting.

“I want to be a performer and want to inspire people through my art. The passion I have for the arts is like an ever-flowing waterfall of hope and creativity. I just want to do something I’m happy doing – and that’s performing.”

Idiabolo will leave for the US on July 23 for about two weeks.
