Jeugland teens bunking school caught with dagga

Disciplinary action will be instituted if necessary

FOUR Hoërskool Jeugland pupils were caught smoking dagga while bunking school on Tuesday morning.

The pupils, who are apparently all 15 years old, were caught by PHS COPS reaction officer, Anthony Rossi around 10am.

“Anthony saw the teenagers sitting in a veld behind what looked like a Telkom box. When he got closer to them one of them got up and hid behind the box. They were all in casual clothes but one of them had their Jeugland windbreaker on.

“They smoked the dagga with a gadget they made with a pen and wrench socket,” said Carl Buys, arresting officer for PHS COPS.

The four teenagers were not arrested because the dagga was not on their person but only in one of their bags.

“When I arrived on the scene we immediately sent one of our vehicles to the school. A teacher came out to identify the teenagers. We then contacted the parents and they took them to the principal at the school,” said Buys.

Hoërskool Jeugland principal, Dr David Morris, confirmed they sent the teenagers for drug tests.

“Once we have all the facts and get the test results back, we will go ahead with disciplinary hearings if need be. The charges against them will be presented in the new school term,” said Morris.
