A tip-off led police to a block of flats where a Nigerian national was caught with R8 000 worth of methcathinone, popularly known as cat.
The 28-year-old was found on March 12 in his flat on Wolff Street in Kempton CBD, by Kempton SAPS’s head of the Visible Policing Unit (Vispol), Lt-Col Robbie Roberts.
According to police spokesman Capt Jethro Mtshali, some of the drugs were wrapped in small plastic bags.
The suspect will appear in court for drug dealing.

Three others were also arrested for being in possession of drugs.
The trio was arrested on the same day on March 19 by members of the crime prevention unit, who patrolled Kempton’s street over the long weekend.
The first suspect (27) was arrested on North Rand Road at about 1.30pm and had in his possession the popular street drug nyaope (also known as whoonga).
The patrols also led police to the infamous Dipereng pub on Pretoria Road, where a 30-year-old was arrested later, having been found in possession of drugs.
Police made the final arrested on Pascoe Avenue, where a 41-year-old was taken into custody for drugs.
The trio will appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court soon for possession of drugs.
