Residents receive food parcels

The event was hosted in Moriting, at the Life 4 U Foundation's offices to commemorate Human Rights Month.

The Life 4 U Foundation hosted a Tembisa Community Easter event on March 24.

About 43 community members received food parcels to celebrate the Easter weekend with their families.

The event was hosted in Moriting, at the Life 4 U Foundation’s offices to commemorate Human Rights Month.

According to the founder of the Life 4 U Foundation, Mr Simon Molekwa, the main objective of the event was to help the marginalised Tembisa community to have hope in life and to ensure that everyone around the community was not deprived of human dignity.

“With high unemployment among the youth and rising food prices in our country, it is a fact that many families are struggling to put food on the table. That is the reason we develop projects to help our society. Our organisation is run by the youth from Tembisa and Ivory Park. It aims to make a difference in the community of Ivory Park and Tembisa,” said Mr Molekwa.

He said they encourage young people to rise above their challenges to fight a good fight for their personal development.

Young people are also urged to start operating their own businesses, community projects and volunteering in their neighbourhoods to ensure a brighter future for South Africa.
