Children celebrate mother
Daughters threw a surprise party for their mother, who turned 62.
Ndu, Tatulo and Zodwa Tlhatla hosted a surprise party for their mother, Ms Magaret Tlhatla, on Saturday.
Ms Tlhatla celebrated her 62nd birthday with children, neighbours, friends and grandchildren.
“We are not a big family but we wanted to bond and show our appreciation for our mother who raised us. She was a single parent,” said Ndu.
She wanted her mother to know that she is loved, no matter what.
“Our mother is a strong woman who has always been there. She brought us up comfortably and she has been both a mother and a father to us, ” said Ndu.
A long-time friend, Ms Masabatha Moeketsi, said she has been friends with Ms Tlhatla for 30 years and she wished her many more years.
“We are both single parents but she is stricter, which is why she is respected by everyone. Ms Tlhatla is a strong woman,” said Ms Moeketsi.
“I want to thank my children for this wonderful surprise. I never thought they would do this for me. It is fulfilling to see that they still recognize my efforts,” said Ms Tlhatla.
