Avis helps achieve a dream for a year
She was awarded in recognition of the work her organisation does, The Sumbandila Scholarship Trust
LEIGH Bristow, who was announced as the winner of the Clarins Most Dynamic Woman Award for 2015, received an Avis-sponsored vehicle at the Avis head offices in Isando on Monday morning.
Bristow will receive R200 000 towards her cause, together with the Avis-sponsored vehicle for one year.
She was awarded in recognition of the work her organisation does. The Sumbandila Scholarship Trust provides disadvantaged children with a sound education.
“I am thrilled to have won this prestigious award and to receive a vehicle for a year courtesy of Avis. This vehicle sponsorship will certainly assist me in achieving my goals for The Sumbandila Scholarship Trust for this year. Thank you Avis!” said Bristow.
The long-standing sponsorship with Clarins forms part of Avis’ corporate social responsibility and sustainability programme, Avis Cares, which is committed to giving back through three key focus areas: environment, community and its brand ambassadors.
“We are fortunate to be part of this amazing initiative that recognises phenomenal women and the difference that they are making in their communities. We acknowledge that transportation is one of the challenges that these extraordinary women face and we are pleased to be able to make a contribution towards this good cause,” said Doreen Lupton, executive human resources manager.
“We wish Leigh Bristow all the success in the year ahead and look forward to seeing many children’s lives enriched through her organisation.”
The Sumbandila Scholarship Trust mentors and supports students selected from the top academic achievers in the Vhembe district of Limpopo. They are given financial, academic, and emotional support, culminating in assistance applying for bursaries and jobs when they reach the end of their school years.
The Clarins Most Dynamic Woman Award is presented in partnership with Fairlady, Sarie and True Love magazines.
