Festival beneficiaries get their money

The organisers recently handed over the charities' money

GLEN Acres Liquor City, in conjunction with EXPRESS, hosted a wine and brew festival in March.

A percentage of the proceeds had been donated to three charities the community voted for.

The first charity was All Stars Shelter for street children, which provides a residential facility caring for boys, youth and young adults from 12 to 19 years of age.

The second charity was the Guardian Angel Trust in honour of Felicity Coetzer, who battled colon cancer for five years and sadly lost the battle in August 2015.

She left behind three children, and a trust account was opened for her children’s education.

Kempton Park SPCA, which is often in need of pet food, was the last charity to benefit.

The organisers recently handed over the charities’ money, as well as prizes won by residents on the day of the festival.
