Pedestrian killed on the R21

He sustained multiple severe injuries and was declared dead

A pedestrian was knocked over and killed on the R21 south before Tembisa on Sunday morning.

According to Chitra Bodasing, ER24 spokesman, ER24 paramedics who were driving back to base came across what they thought was a bumper bashing between two bakkies.

The two bakkies were in the yellow lane of the highway. There was quite extensive damage to one of the bakkies.

When the paramedics went to see if anyone in the vehicles were injured they saw a man lying on the highway. It is understood he was hit by one of the bakkies. The driver of the other bakkie stopped on the scene following the incident.

The pedestrian, believed to be in his late 20s, early 30s, had sadly succumbed to his injuries. He sustained multiple severe injuries and was declared dead.
