Primary school reaches out to police station

The learners were blessed to be able to make a difference

THE Hasie Kwassies at Laerskool Van Riebeeck Park reached out to Norkem Park Police Station and John Wesley Children’s Home on April 16.

Sgt Barbara Ferreira, sector manager of Van Riebeeck Park, welcomed the learners with open arms.

They were very excited to create a flower and vegetable garden at the police station. Ferreira says it was a very special day for everybody at the station and they enjoyed the spirit of the Riebies.

After planting, raking and wetting the garden, the learners went to John Wesley Children’s Home to yet again create another garden.

The learners planted vegetables while accompanied by the girls of the school. After a tiring day, the Hasie Kwassies handed over toiletry bags to each girl.

According to teacher Mariëtte, the learners were so blessed to be able to make a difference.
