WATCH: Arwyp nurses celebrate Nurses Day

The day is a commemoration of the legacy of Nightingale

INTERNATIONAL Nurses Day is celebrated around the world  on May 12 every year, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth.

Arwyp nurses took the Nurses Pledge of Service on the helipad in front of the hospital to commemorate the day, on Thursday.

Nightingale was born in Florence, Italy, in 1820.

Her legacy is not only the science of nursing but also the art and value of nursing as an independent and recognised profession.

Nurses from Arwyp pledged to continue the service of humanity and endeavour to practice the nursing profession with conscience and dignity.
