Car rolls off R24, seriously injuring driver

A motorist was seriously injured this morning  when his vehicle rolled off the R24 landing on the side of the road.

According to Emer-G-Med, who responded to the scene, the accident happened on Boeing Road West close to Van Der Linde Road in Germiston.

Once stabilised, the patient was transported by Emer-G-Med under Advanced Life Support care to a nearby hospital.

“Our crews would like to say thank you to the members of the public who assisted on the scene,” Emer-G-Med said.

Russel Meiring of ER24 said it was understood that the driver swerved to avoid a collision. He then apparently lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll up the embankment and onto Boeing West Road.
