As part of celebrating Africa Month, Khaphela “Bra Kabza” Thusini hosted a Maskandi Music Show of which the winners received prize money.

Mr Thusini, as he is affectionately known by Umthambeka residents, had put up R3 500 for the show as prize money.

Xabanisa was the winner and walked away with R2 000 cash. Second place went to Buselaphi with a R1 000 prize money.

Third place went Oxetsulwaso who received R500.

“I am planning to organise another event bigger than this one to attract sponsors. The show went very well even though it was held at the open space not at the community hall,” said a happy Thusini.

“You can see people loved the Maskandi music,” he added.
