Members of the K9 Unit in Silverton arrested a 24-year-old woman in Ivory Park, Extension 7, for possession of computer screens, computer boxes, a heater and a hammer.
It is believed the items were stolen and the arrest took place on Tuesday last week.
“The police received a tip off from the community about the property, which was seen packed inside a house at night. They visited the address and on arrival they found a woman and the suspected stolen property inside the house.
“The officers asked for receipts for the property, which she failed to produce. The women told the officers the property belongs to her boyfriend who was not at the house at the time,” said W/O Sekgobela.
W/O Sekgobela said the woman was arrested and taken to the Ivory Park Police Station.
“The management of the Ivory Park SAPS thanks the members of the community who alerted the police about the alleged crime which was taking place in their area. The suspect is expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court on charges of possession of suspected stolen property,” said W/O Sekgobela.
