Two caught for rape and robbery

W/O Sekgobela said both the suspects took turns raping the 20-year-old woman.

The Ivory Park SAPS arrested two men, aged 25 and 26, for allegedly raping a 20-year-old woman.

The incident took place in Ivory Park, Extension 7, last Monday.

The Ivory Park SAPS communications officer, Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela, said the two suspects were also charged with house robbery.

“The incident took place a few minutes after the victim’s boyfriend left the room during the morning. The victim heard the suspects calling her boyfriend’s name outside. She opened the door for them thinking it was some of her boyfriend’s friends. The two suspects allegedly entered the room and one of them threatened her with a knife,” said W/O Sekgobela.

The woman said both suspects took turns raping her.

“It is believed the suspects took a laptop and other items when they left. They were later arrested,” said W/O Sekgobela.
