A 20-year-old woman was arrested on May 30 for the attempted murder of her 14-year-old brother.
Captain Manyadza Ralidzhicha said it was alleged by a neighbour that she heard the boy screaming from next door.
“The 57-year-old neighbour went to investigate the cause of the noise. She found the 14 year old boy lying on the ground. He was crying and he was wet,” said Capt Ralidzhicha.
The neighbour asked what had happened and he said his sister had poured boiling water over him.
The neighbour tried to take off the boy’s t-shirt but she realised the child’s skin was also peeling off.
The neighbour immediately called an ambulance to take the boy to hospital, where the boy was admitted .
The SAPS arrested the sister for attempted murder.
