Crime awareness campaign at Pomona informal settlement

Christ Apostolic Church was also there to hand out children's clothes to the families

KEMPTON PARK SAPS Social Crime Prevention Unit visited the Pomona informal settlement as part of their crime awareness campaign on Friday last week (June 10).

The purpose of the visit was to sensitise community members about crimes that are taking place in Kempton Park and their area, including domestic violence, robberies, drug dealing and drug abuse as well as the existence of illegal shebeens.

Pastor Steve Agbabiaka from the Christ Apostolic Church was also there with his team to hand out clothes to the families, including boots for the children to keep their tiny feet warm.

This was part of the church’s community outreach programme, which takes part in various activities that contribute towards alleviating poverty in the community.
