Taxi rear-ends SUV after brakes fail

The patients were treated on-scene before being transported to a nearby hospital for further care

THE Ekurhuleni Metro Police are investigating a crash that left five people injured on Wednesday afternoon (June 15) in Chloorkop.

EMER-G-MED paramedics attended to a scene on corner Zuurfontein Road and Bergrivier Drive where a taxi rear-endeda BMW SUV just before 1pm.

According to EMER-G-MED, the taxi’s brakes allegedly failed as it was approaching a red robot, and bashed the dark blue SUV from behind.

On arrival paramedics found that five people, two from the taxi and three from the BMW, had sustained minor to moderate injuries.
