SANBS Kempton celebrates World Blood Donor Day

This years theme was 'Blood connects us all'

THE staff of the South African Nation Blood Services (SANBS) in Central Avenue, Kempton Park celebrated World Blood Donor Day on June 14 by creating awareness to donate blood under this years theme, ‘Blood connects us all’.

Donors were more than willing to spend some time donating blood on this cold day to help save lives.

One of the regular donors, Danie Keizer (22) was there for his 11th unit and brought his friend, Alecia van Rooyen (22) with him for her first unit. They said that they will be back soon and continue to donate on a regular basis.

The blood buddy, Mpho Letlatsa set out with Sister Lana Smit and Sarah Kgosana (staff member) to hand out pamphlets and invite people to donate blood at various intersections in Kempton CBD.

SANBS encourages people to join the family of donors who are dedicated to giving other people the gift of life through donating blood.
