Fun day for children

"Prizes were presented to Early Childhood Development Centres who participated in the event."

The Phomolong Child Minders Association hosted a children’s fun day on June 10.

Twenty-five creches took part in the event, with children enjoying exciting games at the Phomolong Sports Grounds.

The Ekurhuleni Kiddies Games team brought along different pieces of equipment for the games.

“We had bicycles, tennis balls for dribbling, ball bouncing and children also participated in ring throwing,” said the association’s secretary Ms Maggie Makwela.

“Prizes were presented to Early Childhood Development Centres who participated in the event,” she said.

Different stakeholders were there to witness the children getting dirty, while playing.

Ms Makwela said social workers commended their association for the effort of keeping children healthy.

Chairperson of the Phomolong Child Minders Association, Ms Stephina Mashinini, said the association would like to thank parents for allowing their children to participate.

“We also want to thank the principals of all the creches who participated for making this event a success,” she said.

“Nicholas Molla organised the venue for us and we also want to thank him for that,” said Ms Maggie Makhubedu, the association treasurer.
