Warrior Angels collaborate with Lions Stars for Youth Day event
The day was spent highlighting the importance of safety, as well as what it means to be a proper leader in a community
THE Warrior Angels of Light celebrated Youth Day by hosting an event to commemorate the fallen heroes of June 16, 1976.
The event was held in collaboration with Lion Stars Youth Development, which also has a local soccer team.
Along with educating young people, the day was spent highlighting the importance of safety, as well as what it means to be a proper leader in a community.
About 100 children and youth leaders from Kempton Park and surrounding areas attended the function, where a representative from the EMPD educated them about social crime prevention, drug awareness and keeping themselves safe in the community.
Various soccer teams also participated in matches, where the Lion Stars’ u-12 and u-17 teams played and won their respective games.
The youth were also entertained by hip hop artist Trixy, the YRC group and local dancers Abashwe. DJs Brighton and JP kept them moving with some dance tunes.

The Warrior Angels of Light is a non-profitable organisation (NPO) that is passionate about helping the youth in the community, especially through academic means.
Their agenda entails lending assistance to the children with school work, from offering extra lessons, to helping the kids with their individual homework assignments.
Not only that, but this NPO also offers personal level counselling to troubled children with family and/or circumstantial issues.
In addition, the Warrior Angels of Light also help families by donating food parcels to those who are less fortunate.
It is safe to say that the fallen heroes of our past have not been forgotten, for they still breathe inspiration into the lives of modern day South Africans.
Warrior Angels of Light and Lion Stars Management would like to thank all the speakers, young people and everyone else who attended the Youth Day event, and a very special thank you to Michele Hewitt and Mica KP, for their support of and donation toward this event.
”Your presence and assistance means so much to our cause and it enables us to reach out to the youth in our country.”
