The Original Tembisa Film Club will be screening a film directed by Sib Shongwe-La Mer which highlights the privileged post apartheid scene of a group of Johannesburg affluent adolescents making sense of their lives in the aftermath of a friend’s shocking suicide which she streamed live on the internet.

It will be held today, June 30 and commence at 6h30pm for 7pm.

Ms Angie Mthembu said the Original Tembisa Film Club aims to bring art to avenues that people thought it would not reach, places where film is inaccessible.

“Zuba Bar is the home of Tembisa Lifestyle Market, a space for creatives, creators and services entrepreneurs. We are a platform of young people to promote their businesses, goods and services. Its main focus is to promote local artists” said Ms Mthembu.

She added as the second biggest township, Tembisa has huge potential to become a big role player in the South African economy and tourism industry.

The screening event has no admission fee.
