Mrs SA finalist and Imbizo join hands

"Being a supporter of their Asibambaneni Ngezandla drive is very fulfilling as I believe that all children must be kept warm."

As part of her fundraising drive for Cansa, Mrs SA finalist Mrs Rebekah Krossynski is suppotring a blanket drive this winter.

Imbizo Shisanyama Busy Corner will be one of the drop-off points for blankets. The blankets will then be distribute to various orphanages and schools in the community.

Mrs Krossynski was among the Ebony Park school pupils and officials at Imbizo during a soup kitchen on June 24.

Imbizo Shisanyama Busy Corner launched its Asibambaneni Ngezandla at the beginning of winter this year.

When asked why she is supporting Imbizo Shisanyama’s Winter Warmer campaign, Mrs Krossynski said Imbizo Shisanyama is one of the gold sponsors of her Mrs South Africa journey, but her commitment extends beyond that.

“Being a supporter of their Asibambaneni Ngezandla drive is very fulfilling as I believe that all children must be kept warm and their tummies full during winter.

“I’m really blessed to be working with a team as committed as they are to the community,” said Mrs Krossynski.

“Working on projects like this with Rita and her team really enables me to be able to leave a legacy to change the lives of South African children in a positive and uplifting manner. I also believe that a hug goes a long way.

“I want every child I meet to get a hug from me. I think it’s very important that children know they are loved and this winter every child deserves a meal, warm clothing and a warm, loving hug.”

When asked about her involvement with Cansa and why she supports them, Mrs Krossynski said, “Cansa is one of the partners for Mrs South Africa and so I’ve been lucky enough to meet the team and I am able to make a difference.

“One of the events coming up is My Cuppa for Cansa, which is an event where I will host guests and try to raise as much funds as I can for Cansa so that we can empower people and change lives. Today everyone knows of someone who has suffered from cancer, so it’s a great way for me to be able to give back.”

Meanwhile, the managing director and founder of Imbizo Shisanyama, Ms Rita Zwane, said they have launched the winter warmer initiative because a child’s background is especially evident during the winter months.

“We at Imbizo Shisanyama Busy Corner believe that all children need to be kept warm during these cold months. We would like to see our community’s children warm and wrapped up this winter. Through our newly-launched Asibambaneni Ngezandla drive, we are encouraging those who have a lot to share with those who are struggling in our community so that all children feel warm and embrace this winter,” said Ms Zwane.
