Mrs SA finalist spotted at Imbizo
I have been invited to help with their daily winter soup kitchen, to help feed the children and to keep them warm.
The Tembisan sat down with Mrs SA finalist, Rebekah Krossynski, for a one-on-one.
Tembisan: What is the reason for your visit at Imbizo?
Rebekah: Imbizo Shisanyama is my Gold Sponsor. We are working very closely together. I have been invited to help with their daily winter soup kitchen, to help feed the children and to keep them warm. I also added some extra hugs. I believe a hug goes a long way.
Tembisan: What have you learnt from the place and more especially the disadvantaged children?
Rebekah: That we have to keep inspiring others to follow their dreams. It doesn’t matter where you come from – it’s about where you are going. I would love to carry on my legacy with helping children gain confidence.
Tembisan: What is your message to the children coming from poor families or those children who never get a hug?
Rebekah: These children should not be forgotten. They should be our focus. They need to keep learning life skills, they need the motivation and they need to know that they are very loved. I’m all about hugs, so when I arrive I make sure that each child gets one before they start their day. It makes me happy to see them smile.
Tembisan: What inspired you to join Mrs SA?
Rebekah: The fact that it is more than just a pageant – it’s a women empowerment programme for women who are married and some of us have children. That is what I mostly enjoy about this programme. We forget about ourselves as women when we are married, taking care of our husbands and children. This allows us to go back and focus on ourselves as women and inspire lives and meet so many amazing people. The Mrs SA team is one of the strongest teams I’ve ever worked with. They are hardworking women and everyone is just so driven. They inspire me.
Tembisan: Why would you want to be Mrs SA?
Rebekah: I have been able to help so many on this journey so far, being Mrs SA would just allow me a bigger platform than I have right now, it would give me the voice and ability to go out there and make children feel that they can achieve anything. I am running a programme called Confidence in Kids that will be out soon. I would love to use this and transform lives of the youth. We all know, that’s where it starts. So if I can use my Mrs SA platform then that’s what I will do. Changing lives and making a difference one step at a time.
