Another star shines for Tembisa

Thulani started playing soccer when he was still young and he was a shining star among his peers.

Thulani Ndlovu is a passionate Tembisa soccer star who currently plays for Moroka Swallows.

This dedicated 19-year-old soccer star is set to be a positive example to Tembisa’s youth.

Thulani started playing soccer when he was still young and he was a shining star among his peers.

He was introduced to the sport by a neighbour, Edgar Ngwepe.

“I grew up in the sport and today I am the best soccer player among my peers. I am not blowing my own trumpet, but I play well,” said Thulani.

The young soccer player said he is an asset in any team he plays for.

“In simple terms I would say I am an engine to the team. I make sure the team succeeds,” he said.

As a budding soccer star Thulani played on dusty grounds for Dribbling Wizards FC and went on to showcase his skill in Shining Stars FC.

He was then scouted and picked to play for Share Field FC in the Castle League.

After his stint at Share Field FC, he went on to play in the Vodacom League for Giant Killers FC.

“After the test trials I had an opportunity to play for Moroka Swallows, which I still play for today,” said Thulani.

This Tembisa star has been playing for the club for two years now.

He said his future plan is to make a career out of soccer.

“I want to see myself playing for strong international clubs overseas. I am a big fan of Real Madrid but I would love to play for FC Barcelona,” said Thulani.

The youngster said he is inspired by Thabo Matlaba.

“Thabo is a disciplined player and a hard worker. In my football career I want surpass him and be better than him in what I do on the pitch,” said Thulani.

He said sport has a crucial role in society and because of that he hopes to open his own soccer academy one day to develop the youth.

“Sport keeps young people away from crime and substance abuse, so I would advise the youth to take part in sport,” he said.

Thulani understands that soccer is a short lived career which is why he is stern believer in education.

“If I am not on the pitch I spend most of my time studying. Education makes one a better person,” he said.

He said the youth is getting destroyed because the country is infested with crime and substance abuse.

“Education can save young people. Education is the solution,” he said.
