Norkem Park CPF will pay it forward
Individuals, families, children, adults, pensioners and the surrounding community are invited to attend
NORKEM Park Community Policing Forum (NPCPF) Sector 3 will host an initiative which they’ve termed Pay it Forward/Ubuntu drive.
On July 30, the CPF will pay it forward by handing out food hampers, clothes and blankets to the community of Kempton Park.
The event will take place in the open veld in Kempton Park West on the corner of Handel and Opstal streets (opposite the church) and will start at 11am and end at 4pm.
Stakeholders include Centurion Law Group, Emfuleni Fuels and members of the community. Entrance is free.
According to the NPCPF chairman, Anuska Engelbrecht, Pay it Forward is a great initiative aimed at helping and empowering the community.
“The event will generate a network of communities with the same mentality, contributing to a bigger and better society for all to live in, overriding common stigmas within society, namely oppression, inferiority, racism and gender inequality,” she explained.
“The initiative will help strengthen trust in the community, while empowering young adults, creating relationships, developing respect and promoting the spirit of ubuntu,” she added.
Engelbrecht said guests could expect live entertainment, a SAPS and K9 Show, Alpha and Gauteng 911 displays, exhibitors and many more.
“Food parcels and blankets will be handed out to residents and pensioners are invited to come and enjoy a free cup of coffee or tea and a cupcake or muffin at the pensioners’ tent, making it a fun day but also warming people’s hearts.”
Individuals, families, children, adults, pensioners and the surrounding community are invited to attend.
