Be part of the photography world record expo
The aim is to celebrate 22 years of democracy in South Africa through the lens of a camera

THE ‘Photography in Our Lifetime’ photo expo invites each and every one to join in setting a new world record by staging a 13-hour photo shoot on August 27.
The event will take place at 7 Car Park, Siluma View, Katlehong, from 12pm to 2am.
“On the day of the event we will set up a studio and take portrait photographs of 1 000-plus people who will be attending the event. We will also have a five-metre by three-metre poly-mesh cloth that will see 1 000-plus people writing messages proving that they were part of the historical event. The cloth will later be donated to an art gallery in Johannesburg,” said Arabang Moteetee, motion and still picture artist from Johannesburg.
The expo will feature three photographers from Ekurhuleni and Soweto townships and 500 high school students will also be part of the expo.
“Nobody has previously attempted to achieve this before in the history of photography,” said Moteetee.
The students will also be given career talks by experienced industry players from different creative fields. The aim is to celebrate 22 years of democracy in South Africa through the lens of a camera.
