Norkem CPF spreads cheer

Food hampers consisting of tinned food and soup from the NPCPF and MML Security were handed out

NORKEM Park Community Policing Forum (NPCPF) Sector 3 spread the spirit of Ubuntu through a charity initiative on Saturday.

The NPCPF was joined by various other stakeholders as they gave back to the community through the Pay it Forward/Ubuntu drive held in Kempton Park West.

Community members of Terenure and Kempton Park West donated boxes of adult and baby clothes and shoes which were received by the less fortunate.

Many prizes were up for grabs, including three Pick n Pay shopping vouchers, and learners’ and drivers’ licence course vouchers. Famous South African poet Mzwakhe Mbuli gave away 20 copies of his latest CD. Unisa Radio provided music and entertainment for the day.

Toddler and Tween World 2016 finalist Chelldrie Swanepoel (4) also attended the event as part of the Feed a Child Project. She helped the CPF and MML Security hand out food parcels and clothes, and later gave sweets to the other children attending the initiative.

The Toddler and Tween competition will take place in Klerksdorp on September 3 and the NPCPF Sector 3 wishes Swanepoel all the best.

Anuska Engelbrecht, chairlady of the NPCPF Sector 3, would like to thank all the stakeholders involved in making the day a success.

“Without all the sponsors and everyone who helped get the sponsors on board, as well as the dedication of the NPCPF Terenure/ Kempton Park West members, this event would not have materialised and been successful,” Engelbrecht said.
