‘I knew he was the missing piece in my puzzle’
Bride of the Year 2015 winner Celeste Loubser received her R10 000 shopping voucher
IT didn’t take very long for Bride of the Year winner Celeste Loubser and her husband Ruben to know they were meant for each other.
Although they are both Kemptonians – Ruben grew up in Birchleigh; Celeste is from Bredell and both went to Hoërskool Kemptonpark, they never really communicated at that stage.
“I guess it just wasn’t the right time,” Celeste reckons.
As fate would have it, the couple met officially years after high school through Ruben’s sister, who was teaching with Celeste at the same school.

“It was love at first sight. We met, we dated and we instantly knew that this was it. This is our missing puzzle piece, the other halves of each other.”
The couple, who now live in Fourways, tied the knot at Kopanong Hotel in Benoni on October 31 after being engaged for a year.
“What an amazing day. We had an unexpected cake fight at the wedding – it was just so much fun! I even walked down the aisle with my teddy bear, Lucy, Ruben gave to me with my engagement ring.”
For the honeymoon, the newly-weds went away to Hans Merensky in Phalaborwa. The quirky couple had an amazing time playing golf with giraffes in the background.
“We have a huge photo album with all our memories and I go through it a lot to remind myself how lucky I am to be with this amazing guy, with a personality of gold – man on fire!”
The couple is the perfect example of the saying “opposites attract”. Ruben is sporty and active and owns Convenient Tennis Coaching (CTC), while Celeste loves art and entertainment and is a principal at a private school, an SA team dancer and pageant judge.
She performed at the dancing world championships at the New Prague Dance Festival in Europe as part of the SA team in July.

“We have big future dreams together. We are both passionate people who want to make a difference in the lives of others,” the couple said.
The couple gave away both their Pick n Pay shopping vouchers Celeste won for Bride of the Month and Bride of the Year, worth R1 000 and R10 000 respectively, to families in need.
Loubser received her R10 000 shopping voucher from Pick n Pay Glen Balad on Wednesday last week, with Ruben by her side.
The lucky reader winner who voted for her is 73-year-old pensioner Rina Reichel, who lives at Lenitas Retirement Village. She was accompanied by her family.
The couple has big plans together, from starting their own family and setting a good example for their children, to inspiring other young couples and making a difference in the lives of the youth of South Africa.
“We want to embrace life and live it fully every day, and share many adventures and make memories together forever. I love him more and more with day.”
