Tornado victims receive donation
"It is hard to ask for help and we are thankful to have such mindful people who recognise those in need."
Following the natural disaster that befell Tembisa on July 26, Zamokuhle Private Hospital saw it fit to interact with the neighbouring houses in Hospital View that were adversely affected.
On July 27, Petunia Mhangwane, the hospital customer relations officer, accompanied by Mpume Makhathini (HR assistant), Octavia Nkabinde (Nursing PA) and Thulisile Khoza (Credit Controller) went house-to-house to offer support to the 15 affected families.
On August 4, a hospital team, led by hospital manager Rodney Naicker and nursing manager Delina Mothiba, distributed food parcels to the 15 houses.
The food parcels consisted of mealie meal, sugar, boxes of tea bags, cooking oil, juice, tins of baked beans and blankets.
Ms Constance Dlamini, a beneficiary from a family of 10 whose house was partly blown away by the tornado, said they appreciate the donation made by Zamokuhle Private Hospital.
“It is hard to ask for help and we are thankful to have such mindful people who recognise those in need.
“Some of us we are battling to repair the damages made by the tornado as we do not have any budget. We are grateful for the help,” said Ms Dlamini.
Meanwhile, Ms Motsusi Sepoloane said the donation will help with this month’s grocery costs as they are trying to find ways of how to repair the damages.
“We thank you Zamokuhle Private Hospital for the meaningful gesture,” said Ms Sepoloane.
